Host & Commissioner Terms

These Host & Commissioner Terms apply when you create or publish a private game or private league on Sportsball. You must be at least 18. They add to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree, do not host.

1. Player emails

If a player is signed in, you may see that player's email on the in-app roster for your private game or league, and you may copy or export that roster. Guest players who never sign in do not have an email for you to see.

You may use player emails only to

• Run this game (invites, reminders, results)
• Resolve disputes about this game (not including collecting or paying bets)

You may not

• Add player emails to a marketing or newsletter list
• Sell, rent, or share the list with anyone else
• Use emails for other products, employers, or future seasons that the player did not join
• Harvest emails by creating games you do not intend to run
• Use emails, scores, or the roster to place, collect, or settle bets

After you copy or export a roster, you are independently responsible for that copy under the privacy and spam laws that apply to you. When you send mail from your own inbox, you are not Sportsball, our employee, or our agent.

2. If you email players yourself

If you export emails and send mail from your own account, you are the sender. Identify yourself as the host, not Sportsball. Do not use @joinsportsball.com addresses or imply that we sent the message.

Send only operational messages about this game. Honor opt-outs. Prefer Sportsball league notifications when they are available so players can manage preferences in one place.

If a message is commercial or marketing (not a this-game operational reminder), include a clear functional opt-out and a valid physical postal address as required by the CAN-SPAM Act and similar laws. Ordinary week-open, reminder, and results mail about this game is operational—not a license to market.

3. Exports

Roster exports are confidential and for this game only. CSV files include a confidentiality watermark; keep that meaning.

If a player leaves or deletes their account, we will try to remove their email from the in-app roster. You must delete copies you exported when a player leaves, deletes their account, or asks you to delete their email.

Copies you already downloaded cannot be recalled by Sportsball. We do not promise we can erase files on your devices.

4. Stakes and local law

Sportsball does not hold pots or process player-to-player payments. Host fees are charges for software, not a wager.

You must not, on or through the Service, or by using Sportsball games, scores, emails, or rosters as the basis for a wager:

• Place, accept, record, settle, or pay a bet
• Hold or distribute a pot, or charge a rake
• Adapt play into real-money gambling, including cash, Venmo, PayPal, crypto, or any other value

We do not authorize off-platform wagering. If you do it anyway, you do it without our permission, at your own legal risk, and we may suspend or delete the game and terminate host access, including where we reasonably suspect illegal gambling. Kim Wormley dba Sportsball Games is based in California. You must comply with the laws that apply to you, including California Penal Code section 337a where it applies. These Host Terms do not make Sportsball a licensed gambling operator and do not waive any law. See Acceptable Use.

5. Indemnity

You agree to defend and indemnify Kim Wormley dba Sportsball Games against claims, damages, and reasonable legal fees arising from (a) your use of roster emails, including spam or privacy claims about mail you send, and (b) off-platform wagering or gambling investigations arising from your game. This does not authorize that conduct and is not a substitute for following the law.

6. Changes

Material Host Terms changes require a new in-product host acknowledgment (clickwrap) before you continue hosting. We will also post the updated Host Terms on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Non-material changes may take effect when posted.
